Himeka thinks that is a neat little trick. She also thinks it's less neat when he throws his stick at her like she needs to be skewered.

The right thing to do would be to do appropriately or to try and deflect with her own polearm...but she doesn't have those instincts. Not yet.

Instead she immediately summons up a dome of shimmering aether around her and the polearm splinters on impact.

It's only a second later that she realizes what she's done.
