It's because he has perfected the passive expression and he usually presents himself in a very particular way in Thorne. He sees himself as someone who must be calm and self-possessed and responsible for the others, so he takes on that role.

Geralt knows him from the continent. It's a different type of relationship. And perhaps that is what this is about, in a strange way. ]

None in particular, I like him too. We're not close, but he's always been someone I knew I could count on.
