"Courting is getting to know someone when they aren't exactly a friend," Sansa says. "I always wanted to have that for myself but circumstances did not allow it. At home, it would either culminate in a marriage or a decision to be simply friends but I think here it can be something quite different. Marriage isn't the only path for a woman anymore."

Sansa is nervous, however, and her normally cool voice is trembling a bit. Perhaps she has frightened him away.

"I think we want the same thing by a different name."
