"No, not at all." He laughs a little, though it's not entirely true--Viktor would like having that kind of power to help people, and to be out from under the thumb of the Cadens military. But he believes their ascension will only tie them further to the Singularity, and make it that much more difficult to escape this place.

"But perhaps there is something to be learned from the ritual, regardless."
