Jesper sees him animate in front of him. It's always a strange experience but one he's used to since most of their time has to be spent here. He's already moving forward so by the time Mat smiles at him, he's put his arms around him, holding Mat tightly to him. He buries his nose into his neck and just breathes him in. This isn't exactly how he smells in real life, this is all fake in here, but it's close enough for Jesper. He gets grounded the moment he has Mat, who has been with him the longest since coming to this place.

"I hate everything. I hate these gods. I hate this stupid world." He's sad and bitter at the moment, but he has Mat at least. "I love you more than I hate everything else though." Because if he's not in this stupid world with these awful gods, he's not with Mat, and that's not an acceptable option. Jesper's just in a bad place and he wants to feel anything else.
