That little smile Claude fully absorbs in the second right before leaning in is endearing, and one more entry on the list of many things about Jesper which fit under that description. Lots of them which hadn't fully come into focus until those years as gods which still bring him trepidation for the seemingly unavoidable future course of becoming something divine, but this? This which had also been such an important part of it is something he could and would never regret.

It feels every bit as much like home now as it had then as Jesper kisses him back.

Even when the ache in his lungs from the need for air gets to be too much he's reluctant to let this kiss end despite it meaning the chance for another one following. Something he intends to follow through on even as Jesper pulls back first and Claude opens his eyes from not noticing they'd fallen shut in the first place just in time to see that celebration. And at that, all he can do is snort a laugh in what's poorly restrained amusement.

"Oh, was that you wishing it took longer? I could always take it back and we could add another year or two of waiting in there first," he teases. Or probably teases since if there was a way to somehow do that it honestly wouldn't be something he wouldn't consider sheerly for the ability to be difficult. The reality, however, is that he wouldn't take this back at all. It's been a long time in the making - even longer than he'd fully realized later with those centuries to look back on as he trails his thumb along the other man's jaw in affection and the barely disguised desire to kiss him again. And speaking of that - "Or we could try again and see if it's even better yet."
