( matt doesn't do a lot of traveling around different horizons, preferring to have people come to him for some reason. maybe it's the familiarity and comfort of being in your own place or just being a boring, dull man, he's just not one to horizon hop.
but, today he decides to slip into some that he's visited before and some that he hasn't. it's been awhile, he realizes, since he's seen nebula and while he doesn't think he could say they're friends, he would say they are friendly.
or, at least, she hasn't tried to punch him yet and that's something. so, that's how he comes to end up in her horizon, cane out, while he tries to listen for where she might be or if she's even here. )
[ Thankfully, Nebula is present in the M-Ship today. Usually avoiding the Horizon, not she's avoiding people. It's fine. At least up here she can see an expanse of sky that she normally wouldn't. No music plays in the ship this time, which helps to hear the sound of an approach - ]
[ - She doesn't get up from her position at the pilot's seat, but does turn to look back. Her brow arches, unknown to him as she offers a wry: ]
[ Yeah she does. She'll just never admit to it. She huffs as she gets up from the seat and moves to lean against the backrest with her arms folded. She raises a brow. ]
Why am I visiting? Because I hadn't talked to you in awhile and I thought I'd drop him and just make sure things were all right with everything going on.
[ The response is lower than she'd like - not a mumble, but something abashed. It doesn't quite ring like a lie, either, her experience in the Horizon has been that most people stumble here. They don't intend to visit her. And then anyone at the Treehouse is for any number of the others - ]
[ This is her logic, though her head tilts in response. Like it still feels foreign that people would want to talk to her or see how she is, even if it's a lot more common than it used to be. She still feels uneasy. ]
[ She considers, huffs out a breath. ]
Take a seat. [ WHERE??? She doesn't point and she guesses he'll figure it out. ] I'm not going to have anything interesting to report. And I'm sure you've already heard all about the goats.
( no, he hasn't heard of them. he raises an eyebrow and crosses his arms, standing because he doesn't need to sit. he doesn't mind standing and listening. )
I actually haven't heard of the goats. That sounds like a story to tell. You've got goats?
I don't have goats. [ A pause. ] The others have Eli.
[ She will not accept Eli. To be fair, she probably stays clear of more than just Eli. Her hatred of goats means she doesn't have the patience for them. She tilts her head: ]
No one's told you the goats around here have taken up walking on two legs? Knocking on doors? Eating other animals?
Not all the time, but enough times they should just get rid of the stupid creatures.
[ Nebula makes a quiet sound in consideration. Maybe the others just thought it was some bit of Solvunn weirdness - certainly in the past few months they'd gotten stranger. ]
Some of them. A number of different species got more aggressive and blood thirsty last month.
[ She taps a finger. It's probably just easier to lie to people about weirdness - no one wants to think about what might be happening and they can't help. ]
There was some. Dogs turned aggressive and would attack anything unless you managed to calm them.
