Claire takes a few deep breaths, pressing the cloth to her lip. She can already feel the roundness of swelling, but at least it isn't a black eye this time. Once she's taken enough deep breaths to trick her mind into thinking she's calm, she finally takes in the person in front of her. She's seen him before, but only recently and only from afar, so she assumes he's newer. The last cycle of new arrivals, or the batch right before, she can't be sure. Still, she doesn't know him.
"You can stop apologizing. I'll be fine, there's been worse done in the last month alone." Michael is going to give her that look again, she knows it, but oh well. She'll point him at Chris.
"What, exactly, did you think you were going to do?" She isn't yelling. In fact, she asks calmly, completely ignoring the man struggling in the vines. He'll be fine, he isn't going anywhere. "Throw an explosive potion and hope it only affected him?"
