[ Given how readily those words spill out of Rocket's mouth, Steve does view it as the closest that he'll ever really get to praise. And it's a nice thing to hear given how much fondness and yes, pride he has for where he's from. It's a difficult thing to explain to someone who isn't even from Earth, but he isn't going to dwell on it too much. Rocket gets the idea.

And then Rocket speaks of what counts as "home" for him. Steve's heard briefly about Knowhere from Nebula, but he's interested to know Rocket's take on it, and so he quiets down, letting him speak as he takes another long sip of his coffee. ]

If it's something you never had before, I would think that would make it even more important to you.

[ Steve hasn't ever pried much into Rocket's background, but he can make a few educated guesses based on his physiology. The fact that he's a talking animal, those ports on his back — all of it screams experimentation. Which means that he hadn't grown up anywhere that was comforting or nostalgic. Just the opposite.

He steers right around that. ]

[ Chances are that Rocket could use the Horizon to show him if he really wanted, but Steve doesn't mind a verbal description either. He's pretty comfortable right where they are, after all. ]
