All the same her body moves towards their bodies as if the love and the care that Rocket has for Floor, Teeth, and Lylla reaches out and curls tight around her heart. They were so important to him. So, incredibly important. They are parts of his heart that will leave a hole that will be impossible to fill, something that he will have to carry for the rest of his life. But she stops short, a weight at her ankles causing her to halt in her tracks.
Tear-filled eyes turn to him, confused. She wants to ask why he doesn't want to save them. Or at least, bring them with him so that they can bury them properly. But there's no time. He takes off, scampering on all fours just as soldiers appear down the hall. Without thinking she rushes forward, pulling the cooling bodies into her arms, uncaring about the blood that will stain her clothing before turning to run after Rocket. She would not leave them.
