The Pit was terrible and now that he's experienced it he's angrier than ever, but honestly, he forgets that the moment that he kisses Kaz. He forgets anything but the two of them. He puts an arm around him to hold him close and kisses him in a way that they couldn't actually do until recently. It's been a journey for them to get to where they are now. They hadn't been there at the time of the Pit. It's been a long time since and they've come to a time when Kaz leans into the kiss instead of squirming underneath it.
"As long as we're here, I am yours, Kaz Brekker. You are the only bet that I ever cared about winning." They are now fully back into the Free Cities where they were before the world changed around them into that strange lucid dream, and he kisses the top of Kaz's head, hugging him. It doesn't matter where they are.
Jesper never knew that him leaving with Wylan bothered Kaz, because he never said so, he brushed them off to their new life like it was nothing. He knew that Kaz still wanted him around though because he'd show up for jobs and they never fell out of each other's lives for good. But if Kaz asked him to stay, he would have. He's been dedicated to this man for years.
He pulls from the hug to kiss Kaz again because he can, and out of relief that they made it out of whatever that weird situation just was. "I love you. Are you okay? That was nuts." Nuts for him, experiencing it as he did in a lucid dream, but it meant more to Kaz. It was from his trauma.
