[Nadine certainly hadn't been eased into anything. But her circumstances weren't usual, and as a teacher, she'd had very clear guidelines to follow. Not that she'd needed it, her own experiences only made her more determined to shelter children as best she can. At least the little ones. They didn't need to know the truth of the world that early.
