While tempting to play Chopsticks on the flute to add to his Hot Cross Buns rendition, Lucifer has been trying to pull back together the pieces to something in the last few months. It isn't Aster's usually jaunty jingles.

Lucifer's song is like trying to base sound on a memory from your youth, when you don't quite have the skill at recall or playing. Missing parts, playing others slightly off, but making it work.

It's a song from the Nether. Only a song eight-hundred years in the future of a reality that no longer exists. Maybe, given the Nether and their long lives, it's still considered a present-day song. Maybe it's even inspired by the past.

Lucifer can't quite do it justice--he was once a master player and now he's back to being passable. But he uses the flute Aster gave him when last they met, and that's really what matters.
