[They're both here, they're both in one piece. It feels like far too long since they could do more than just ... talk. He wants to revel in it. Wants to just stay in this position for longer.]

[But there's work. There's a mission. And when she steps away, he makes an effort to haul himself to his feet. He needs a few tries. And even as success comes, the sudden lurch of position, of effort, has him doubling over, hacking up more water. That's a new... fun development.]

[He's not going to let a little cough hold him back.]

[Long arms are a definite help in dragging people onboard whatever the hell this thing is. A creature, for sure. What it is, though, is ultimately less important than the fact it's swimming, it's saved them. Less important than getting people aboard. Forcing himself to breathe through any attempts his body makes to cough his lungs out his throat.]

[By the time the influx of refugees seems to slow, so too has his energy. Even though he wasn't the one to do all the work in the water. The sun's fading. The chill is sinking into sodden clothes and bones. He's found a section of vines that makes for a good place to hold on, and admits defeat to exhaustion. Just sitting down, no fainting here, don't worry.]
