Claude's in the middle of nudging one of those mushrooms with the toe of his boot as Wilhelm speaks up with the same thought he was thinking to himself. Eating it is an option the longer they're out here, though one that's rather uncertain since some of them aren't ones he recognizes and that's a risk in itself as he crouches down to look at it closer. Then there's also -

"I can't say I've been fond of them ever since we spent an extended amount of time around them," he says dryly, which is certainly true. "At least for eating since mushrooms since have other uses, but nothing that's going to help us much here. Maybe we can find something with a little less danger to it."

Though that said, Claude's also retrieving a knife and a pouch from the never ending storage in his bag to uproot this mushroom to examine once they're back at something like a campsite. If they'll be out here for a while then studying it for any clues would be a good idea, and once it's successfully scooped up he looks up to Wilhelm. Just in time to see that motion, and he quickly stands to fall into step and spot the same thing. "I'm not seeing things, right? Something tells me we might find more than mushrooms if we're lucky."
