Wilhelm's response is confirmation he's not imagining this - with the dim lighting he's eyed the outline of a few things only to discover upon getting closer it wasn't what his mind had filled in. That's been less useful at some times than others but helpful for (finally) avoiding the vines waiting to grab onto someone unsuspecting.
The mushroom's forgotten despite picking it up as Claude also hops the fence to land next to a row of what looks like the tops of root vegetables sprouting up from the ground below. Close enough to what he remembers from the monastery's greenhouse and then later Sylvain's carefully cultivated garden beds at their loft, so while Wilhelm grabs tomatoes he reaches down to dig one up. What appears is a bunch of carrots much smaller than he'd expected, but all the more reason to move onto retrieving more of them as he glances over to also take in the cabbages one row over.
"Well, we're certainly getting more than mushrooms - " and thankfully might be the unspoken end of that sentence - "and someone more talented than me when it comes to cooking could probably make something pretty good out of all of this." He's once again thinking of Sylvain, ready to volunteer his partner through no small amount of thinking the man in question is a wonderful cook. "Unless you have plans to cook instead, of course, considering you found this place."
