[ Unfortunate that stabbing this vine wouldn't invoke his Crest - at least it probably won't, but that's require more time than it feels like he currently has as yet another branch drags along his face while he's blindly sawing at said vine with one hand while the other blocks any more rogue foliage from thoroughly scratching him up. Which is how even though he hears Jaskier arrive and absolutely sighs in relief since two of them against one(?) plant surely has better odds, and all the more reason to reorient himself to the forming plan at hand.

An accurate thought since even though his vision is partially blocked at the start of when the plant releases him, that's still success. Not from his actions which he could've guessed but discovers fully as he puts his hand down and spies it absolutely wasn't his hacking at it which has done it he's immediately intrigued. Relief wins out as Claude heaves an audible exhale before reaching for Jaskier's hand with a grin like this is an everyday occurrence. More like every few hours, but he's not dwelling on that. (For now.) ]
