Wilhelm won't waste time either. As fast as he can, he crams another head of cabbage into has bag and starts ripping up fistfuls of herbs. He has no idea what any of them are, but if the herbs can't be used to make their foraged food taste better then maybe they can be used for medicine.
Before long, the garden has rotted around them, the tomatoes withering on the vine and the cabbages deflating into stinking piles of decay. Wilhelm's shoulders sag as he blows out a sigh of frustration. The garden had seemed like a sign that everything would be okay, and now they're faced with the sprawling uncertainty of the wilderness once again.
"It's better than nothing..." He chews on his cheek, picking his way back through the dead garden toward the fence. "How long do you think we'll be out here?"
