That's something else on his mind, something he can't quite bring himself to reach for reassurances on when there are enough paths branching into the future and everywhere else to where his endless plans can't keep up. But that would match with it reaching out to us more and more, if you think about it. Maybe it wasn't the Singularity's idea to bring us there when the storms were raging on, but it certainly brought us to one version of a future. One where all the nations were at odds and what could've happened after, but... no guarantee that's what would happen.
