"I think it's a physical manifestation of the Singularity's connection to all life here. It's winding its way through all of Abraxas and connected to the rifts opening, worming its way in there too." Istredd scowls. He did know the Singularity was always a danger to everyone around, but he had hoped that if they understood it, they could manage it safely. He sees now that he was right, that it is tied to all spheres and every part of this place, but seeing it this way is grotesque.
"I theorized long ago that it might be centrally tied to other spheres and their safety relied upon it being handled but ... clearly a power much greater than ours cannot be counted on." None of the connections people made to it over time can bring it to stop. They have always been working with a power outside of their understanding. No one knows why it escalated now, although Istredd has theories, but they don't seem to matter really.
Serious blue eyes turn toward Thancred, frowning deeply. "It's still giving us the ability to be here, our connection is still strong enough for us to possibly be the only people who can enact change." Istredd has always secretly wanted to be important and necessary, but this isn't what he really meant by that.
