[ Amos frowns when she brings up kids. Yeah. He gets what she means immediately. He hadn't thought of that. Hadn't even seen the bodies of any kids after the rocks hit. The thought hadn't crossed his mind at all.

Jesus, he's slipping. This isn't a good sign. Maybe moving himself out to the middle of nowhere where he supposedly couldn't hurt anyone wasn't the right idea at all. He still needs to be around someone to remind him to keep himself in check. These little Horizon meetups probably aren't cutting it.

In the end, he just gives her a curt nod at the idea of kids. In full agreement there. Considering what they'd talked about their first time here, Amos figures she knows exactly what he means by that. Doesn't need to go into it. It's not like you can take revenge on a plague.

Huffs at the notion of the fantasy epic that is now their lives. ]

Kinda helps, having a place like this now, though. I don't know how these people are living through the dark ages. Think I might go nuts if I didn't have some way to get to some place that at least looks like home.

[ He might go nuts regardless. Gonna have to keep an eye on that. ]

I didn't even have anywhere to go for a few hours back then. [ Back when he was growing up. ] Sounds like it would've been nice. Or maybe it would've just reminded me of what I couldn't have. [ A beat, idly musing. ] Maybe that would've been worse.
