Mm. She's probably right.

He acknowledges her statement with a vague noise. To explain requires more detail than he's willing to give right now. They aren't pleasant dreams, memories, but not in the way a nightmare vision might haunt. They're simply—life. As it passes. Full of shit that you didn't ask for, but not without important moments, too. Important people. Things worth holding onto.

"More so than some," he says. "You must've felt it. How nothing happened to our connection. I entered the Horizon without even a stutter."

He believes it, that the Singularity's power waned in that period. He hasn't got a reason to doubt a phenomenon that all three territories across the continent agree upon. It's just that it simply affected none of those who were summoned. And he can't decide what that's even supposed to mean.
