I know you. and he supposes he does - probably better than anyone else, here. sam recognizes the feeling of uncertainty around that, of being unsure of what that means. that he's been here this long, that he's built these relationships, that geralt - from a world that sam doesn't know and a life that sam has been trying to comprehend - knows him. knows him well enough to be here. knows him well enough to ask. to listen. ( to have invited him home ). sam lets that fact settle for another moment, and then another moment more, before he lets out a sigh.

I went and saw Goro before the rally. [ because they'd already discussed the rally itself - how sam was worried about what would come of it. how he didn't trust where it was going to lead. geralt wasn't happy with it either, but sam knew in a different way. different degrees. and that was okay. sam understood that. but it does mean that geralt had been there. had heard what goro was saying. which means sam doesn't have to cover that part of it.
