[ So they will. For a time. He makes a sound that is neither agreement nor disagreement. To him, there's a difference between having those of the city follow Goro and the Summoned themselves. Both are a problem, but the Summoned hold an unpredictability, a potential the local citizens do not. Solvunn already knows what to expect of the Free Cities and its people, its government. They've been locked in this conflict for decades. What happens when they start to think the Summoned are willing to joining the impending war, too? All of them? They, who can enter this strange plane together that no one else can?

I don't know what she's after. [ That's his takeaway from their conversation, when they'd met. He simply doesn't know. She asked so few questions—part of him wonders if she'd known all the details the moment he'd been captured. There's already instability within Thorne's court, according to Kylo. Who says one of them isn't feeding information to the Free Cities?

Conjecture will get them nowhere, though. He brings his thoughts back to the matter at hand. ]

If you talk to someone, talk to Amos. [ He looks up. ] Anyone else will have their own ideas for getting involved. Negotiating, fighting.

[ A complication they don't need. Amos, he suspects, will listen to Sam. So find someone else who's a good person, is what Amos had said once to him. And while Geralt doesn't know Amos' exact reasons for trusting himself so little, he does know if there's anyone's judgment Amos might be willing to trust instead, it would be Sam. ]
