Link happens to be an easy read, most certainly. Earnestness- especially the heartfelt kind- tended to be remarkably easy to detect. His straightforward nature is a big help in that too. So! As the (seeming) teenager decides to seat himself, Hythlodaeus decides to sit next to him. For after all, being loomed over hardly encouraged appetite- even in those ravenous.

His share- a single vine of grapes- is procured and placed before him- and he rests his chin in his hand, his eyes staying on Zelda as she engages in inquisitive conversation with this person and that person. The way that she smiles with his eyes, and genuinely seems to be laughing from her heart is certainly a pleasant sight to behold, after all.

And. While Link eats:

"I was in a remarkably similar position as you, once. My duty to the star revolved around two people. Heroes both, thankfully! For what you did- charging in and driving the wolves away- that was, and still is, decidedly not my forte."

A grape finds its way to his lips. And after it is chewed and swallowed:

"However. I know what it is to exist in support- to dedicate yourself to those you believe will become all that they have the potential to become. And I know what it is to trust that this person you believe in will save everyone."

An ever so faint smile plays at his lips.

"...We are both fortunate in that. Many don't have it. And I wish you both every success. And should your burden- with the added complication being here may place on your shoulders- become heavy, you are more than welcome to seek me out in the future. Perhaps I would be able to lessen it."

He'd try, anyway.
