[The sudden transformation into a cloud of bats is more instinct than considered choice for Alucard. He understood, logistically, that the baths might be an emotional minefield. He failed to consider what actions he might take if he felt just a little too threatened or out of place and--

He lands outside of the enclosure and to the right, closer to where there's more covering. Not everyone needs to see a whole bunch of bats become a person, and for a moment, Alucard supposes that's it. He can go back to where he's staying, take his wolf form, and try again in the dead of night.
But he hears a familiar voice and realizes that slinking off is not an option. And that in someone else's quest to hunt down a bunch of bats, they've just found him standing there awkwardly.]
