[Look, not everyone can radiate innate Dad energy like Geralt. At least the torture is short-lived. Hector keeps his hair chin-length, so there is only so much to braid. With a few odd stems shoved into his scalp and his silvery strands sectioned off into braids of various thickness and integrity, their work is finally complete.

Hector keeps very still as they begin to sniff around for their next victim, as if sudden movements might draw their attention back to him. The littlest move on to chase the goats around, though a pair of the older girls stay long enough to tie the ends of the braids off with little lengths of ribbon.]


Why, though? So much work, for what, some sort of cult festival?
