[ If Thancred explains what Zodiark's defeat led to, he'll need to delve into the true cause of the Final Days and everything he'd heard of (from Himeka herself) that took place in Elpis. There is some weariness that comes with the thought, especially when he'd initially been hopeful that Himeka might have some answers for him of their eventual fate in Ultima Thule.
As things stand, he will have to endure remaining in the dark for a while longer.
Then Himeka reveals that Estinien had been here, and suddenly everything falls into place, a look of recognition and understanding on his face. He'd asked after all of his Scions in Thorne shortly after his arrival, desperate to determine if any of them had been summoned alongside him. For the most part he'd received little more than clueless glances in return, but Estinien's name had earned him an interesting response — wherein whoever he was speaking to would either rapidly change the subject or simply storm off. ]
He was? For how long? And where has he gone?
[ It's possible that he is pressing on a yet unhealed wound by even asking her, but if Estinien was here and now isn't, that's something he needs to know about. Thancred's even more relieved that they ran into each other, and so early into the summit. For more reasons that one, Himeka may be sorely in need of a familiar face.
For now, he thinks it might be best to set aside what he knows of Himeka's future, though he knows she'll circle back to it. Nor can he blame her. ]
