[ Thancred takes in that response, lets it settle for a moment, and nods slowly. He truly cannot find any point to argue with there, and it's not as if he sat down here expecting a fight. Hythlodaeus' perspective is far different from the likes of Emet-Selch and Elidibus, who had simmered in their duty and what needed to be done to carry it out for centuries upon centuries.

He even manages a small smile, one that is truly for Himeka more than anything else, as he lifts his mug and takes a long sip from it, finishing it off. ]

She certainly is not. [ There may be some disappoint in him still not knowing the outcome for certain, but that is hardly Himeka's fault. Or Hythlodaues', for that matter. The Ancient has confirmed at least one important detail for him, and Thancred will have to be satisfied with that. ]

[ He can only take so much of all this, and while he's certain both of them could ask each other further questions, the day is dragging on and he needs some time to gather his thoughts. [ Thancred may not know what the future will hold, back home or in this place, but he is fairly certain that he and Hythlodaeus have no quarrel between them. (Unlike the problem that is Fandaniel.) At least he's established that much. ]
