Even making good time, they are committing to being away from the castle for weeks. That doesn't particularly bother him and any urgent news will no doubt find its way to them even this far out, but he also would rather they not end up too delayed.
Besides, they will need to return to Hayle to bring back the cart and also grab the next portal to yet another unknown location. That may grant them a chance to explore a little bit more. Thancred is relieved that the method of teleporting oneself in this land isn't nearly as hard on his body. Memories of the aetherial sickness he'd sustained when traveling to Thavnair are not easily forgotten.
Thankfully, any queasiness he experienced as a result of those terrible memories has passed now that they're out on the road with plenty of fresh air. He holds tightly on the reins as they navigate through lands even less familiar to them than those around Castle Thorne, though they've got a map which is unfurled between him and Yennefer.
