After arriving by portal they'd set out almost immediately on horseback in order to make their final leg of the journey, out to the east in the direction of the Singularity. It's no surprise that this is their last destination, as this may in fact be the most important of all of them. These devices are meant to measure energy fluctuations as caused by the Singularity, so it stands to reason that the one set up closest to it must be placed perfectly. By now they have plenty of practice.
Their ride takes them alongside yet another wooded area, and while Thancred has a general idea of where the Singularity is located ahead of them, it's not as if they can see it from such a distance, especially with the dense forest that lies between them and it. Yet knowing it's out there and understanding their deep connection to it is enough to make him contemplative all the same.
He nudges his horse along, his energy picking up a little now that they're so close. ]
