Since she doesn't know if she's ever getting to go home (she tries not to think about it, actually), worrying about what will happen in the future of her Earth is kind of pointless. Besides, she'd rather worry about begging another one of those cookies off of Nadine.
"The water's really cold," she says, a little wistful, "but that makes it bracing. It really wakes you up, you know? I never picked up surfing, but I thought about maybe doing it when I got a little older."
