FOR SAM WILSON

Jesper's been doing his best at not setting off people, even if his curiosity so so so so so much wants to poke at every mind for the sheer chaos of it. But after a few close calls in the Horizon, Jesper came back to the real world and tried not to be as touchy as usual. He is a little jittery, not so used to having to watch his every move. It's actually Sam who reaches out to help him pick up something in the halls of the inn and Jesper turns at the wrong time. He swears loudly when he sees the look of pain cross over Sam's face and sighs, waiting. He hasn't yet learned that he can actually help with a touch.

More than one memory hits Sam (2 and 3), like an ongoing story instead, a mother's sacrifice for an innocent girl, and the father's punishment for it afterward. There is no mistaking the little boy is Jesper, with his brown skin and vivid gray eyes. There is no mischief in him here, only sadness and fear, especially after his father makes him promise. That's what killed your mother. He offered to let Jesper go, but it wasn't a choice at all. Who would leave their father alone in his grief and pain?

Jesper has no idea what Sam is seeing so he crouches next to him anxiously. Instead of touching him to help he avoids it, afraid he'll set something off again accidentally. If it's something of his, he has no idea. He knows about the waffle memory, and that his mother is in some of them, but he hasn't gone walking through any. For a moment, he's anxious, not sure what it is Sam is seeing. While Jesper likes to pretend he doesn't care what people thinks, sometimes he does, and he's done some dark things in his past. Things Sam might not like. He bites his lip and waits.
