I hate the be the bearer of bad news, but libraries are for the nobility, not the common man. And most of the population is illiterate, anyway. You'd be lucky if your usual townsman could read a road sign, let alone Theories on the Conjunction. I imagine most farmers aren't spending their coin or trading their first-borns for books.

[Everything is hand-written, of course, and prohibitively expensive. Not that it's their fault, the common man. Most people could not afford to be students, unless it was relevant to their craft. Jaskier just happens to be one of the nobility himself.] You must be from a very lucky place indeed.
