Jayce wasn't surprised to see Goro there; he suspects he doesn't agree with Sam's assessment but it's always smart to be informed of what other people are saying and doing. It's one of those strategies that Jayce understands. He's still a novice, technically, but he learns quickly. He also isn't surprised when Goro eventually approaches him, glancing over at the Shokan when he does. He's not the most popular Summoned here, that much is clear, but not unwelcome enough to be asked to leave. Maybe all diplomatic options can be open here too.

"We're lucky that we come from a world with equivalent technology to here. It makes the transition easier." So they have a leg up from people who are far behind, and also in a way to those from the future, who haven't yet learned how to adapt to the past. Hextech isn't as easy to replicate as they thought though. Jayce is working on it, but they don't have his collection of crystals and years of research. That all is being rebooted in a way. It puts them at a disadvantage for the Hexcore, not that he'd share any of that.

"We'll be proud when it's finished, but I'm optimistic too." He has to be. It is one of the ways in which they see themselves saving Viktor's life, so it has to be something worth finishing. Jayce's hands clasp behind him at the small of his back, glancing toward Sam's house and then back at Goro.
