I second Viktor's assessment but also, the Singularity works differently than anything observed in science from what I can tell, we could very well cause it to escalate by meddling. If it is connected to everything as people claim, the results of that could be catastrophic for every universe it is connected to. Gambling with that sort of force is reckless to say the least.
