[Sasarai shifts around to face Julie]

I don't know how fast it is, exactly, that's why I need help. It's fastest near the crater, slower the farther out you get. I am guessing the speed and power of the pull fluctuates with the power of the Singularity, too.

But that could mean the pull increases as the Singularity's power does or that the pull increases when the Singularity's power fades and the pull is the observable effect of it leeching strength from the land.

Something like that.

[He rubs his chin.]

The wizards of Thorne say the Singularity's power is fading so that second possibility is more likely but...

I want to know what the other nations say. Are there records of seismic activity in Free Cities? Any strange myths in Solvunn? If I can find stories other nations have told about this pull I can probably compare them to Thorne's historical readings of the Singularity.

[For a long moment he's thoughtful then he remembers the rest of Julie's question.]

Oh, sorry. You asked what was under it too.

I don't know what's under the thing other than the crater... Actually, the crater is probably created by the pull, with everything getting sucked into the Singularity... Which, for all we know, is actually beneath the relic.

That means if the pull does continue then everything will eventually become part of the Horizon.
