"I am having to come to terms with that." Goro nods. "Outworld, as you may have guessed is not...developed, shall we say, in many of the sciences." Some of its residents, perhaps; Shang Tsung had a wealth of knowledge, some of which came from an unnaturally long life, but a great deal more was taken from the souls he consumed as sustenance. He did not share his knowledge freely, recognizing the power it gave him...which of course failed to save him when Shao Kahn required power. And now that Shang Tsung was dead, all of that hoarded knowledge was lost forever.

Goro raises a hand, and curls it into a fist. "It's true, we do have power." Even without his abilities, Goro is stronger, faster, more powerful than an average human could ever hope to be. "But we are few, and power alone can only do so much. Thorne had the means to imprison many of the Summoned that first came to Abraxas, through means I do not know. But who is to say they were the only ones?" He looks at Jayce. "It is only natural to assume the Cities are keeping things from us about their true capabilities." They would not be so engaged in summoning if they did not have some trump card to play, some means by which the Summoned could be brought to heel, if need be. "I do not believe that Captain Wilson has accounted for this possibility, and that...concerns me."

"But, that is a distant concern for now." He adds. "We are not at war, and while I do not doubt the nations are playing games with each other, for the moment all seems peaceful, and will remain so for the near future, at least." He folds his upper arms over his chest. And speaking of the future...

"I understand the plan for our agricultural project will need to be revised, and the timetable will also likely need to be altered. But I wonder what thought you and Viktor have given to what comes afterward." He asks this knowing it's a certainty they probably have, and that those talks have likely involved Goro's continued involvement. He knows they don't fully trust him or his motives; they've been polite and cordial, but also definite about the lines they will not cross with their research, and also made efforts to keep the Shokan at arm's length as much as possible.

He doesn't know for certain, but he can guess to what end.

"I have already turned my mind to what comes after." He carries on. "And the agricultural issue is but the first of many I believe we can address. For the Free Cities...and all of Abraxas, of course." He's careful to add that last part, but his position is clear; he intends that this partnership, his patronage, should continue.
