I can imagine it's definitely hard work. I won't pretend like I've ever done anything like that myself in my life - pretty far from it, actually, other than whatever needed to be done to get through the war. But even that's not the same as living it day in and day out, and making sure you're staying on track for what you need.
[ The mention of feuds causes Claude to raise an eyebrow just for a short-lived moment even though it's nothing out of the ordinary to him. Minor squabbles escalating into full on feuds at the borders of different lords' territory before they'd demand intervention from Alliance leadership: just another day of managing the nation if it couldn't be resolved before making it to the Roundtable. ]
Sounds like that would've fit right in with where I'm from, given how lords liked to argue over everything that they could. Right down to starting bloody fights over it if they felt they weren't getting their way quickly enough, though we were fortunate that didn't happen too terribly often.
[ It sounds like that might be something that happened more often for Ches to have to deal with, but Claude's content enough to not pry. For now, anyway, since that sounds like something better left for more conversations down the road. It's not like he's not holding onto plenty of information himself. And speaking of that: ]
What I had in mind was a type of berry that gets used in a few dishes I like from home. Not that I can really cook aside from a couple things here and there, but one of the things I do know uses them so I'd be happy to trade a plate or several in return for growing them, needless to say. [ A bit of a wry smile at his own expense appears on his face then. ] I suppose it's technically the kind of thing I could just make appear here, given what all we can do, but I was planning on doing that with everything else needed.
