"It's not your fault."

Lloyd is not to blame, and she doesn't want him to think she's upset with him in any way. Use your words, Nadine, she chastises herself mentally, talking to herself like she were one of her students. But she's angry and hurt and betrayed, and she knows that's a ridiculous thing to feel, but there it is.

It's hard to wrestle it all down to speak calmly, or as close to calmly as can be managed. It's like she's been slapped in the face, a kindness she'd done at her own risk thrown back at her like it was nothing.

"And I'm not upset, I'm angry. I...Larry had a responsibility in Boulder. That's the whole reason I left him alive...except I guess I didn't kill any of them? And here I thought I'd taken out most of the committee." That's...unfortunate. The bomb had been intended to get rid of the committee, but apparently had just taken out a bunch of innocents.

That's something to think about at another time.
