"So the touching reminds you of what happened, and that freaks you out?" A trauma like that, it makes sense. It's against Kaz's will too, he can see that, it would be frustrating. Jesper understands the feeling of being out of control and how horrible it can be, although it's still always been his choice. So he can't fully understand, but that doesn't mean he lacks compassion or love to replace that.

"We've all got weaknesses, Kaz. You know what mine cost everyone around me. You're not going to find judgment here, you've done your best." And Jesper believes that without question. Kaz of all people would do whatever he could to overcome it, and if he hasn't been able to yet, that means he still has further to go. But they can help him. That's the part he's never been good at. Letting people close, letting them help and care.
