[ sam does end up going shopping before the formal event, arriving in dark golds and blacks to the wooded area where the werewolves have set up for their event. and honestly? the sight is more than a little breathtaking, one of those moments where sam has to remind himself of the distinctly magical nature of this whole thing, of where they find themselves, of this.

very much like releasing an exhale, sam dives into the festivities, easily getting caught up in the dancing and unafraid of grabbing hold of anyone he might see watching, but not participating. it's chaotic and there's very little pattern to it, but sam likes the feeling, laughing or grinning even if he messes up the steps, spending equal times with the werewolves as he does with the other summoned.

he can also be found moving back and forth amongst the refreshments, drinking and eating to his hearts content, at least up until he finds himself signing up for the blind tasting, which he is absolutely sticking around to finish. his mother did not raise a quitter, thank you.

honestly, sam's not one to say no to anything, especially at a party. he'll be a little all over the place, but never too busy for a conversation, or a dance. he will also find himself watching the transformation, releasing his lantern when the time comes and watching, a bit distractedly, as it rises up with the rest.

he'll only be broken out of that thought by the appearance of what he finds to be a bug slipped into his possession, along with a note. any and all of the joy and energy he might have been carrying prior to this settles into something a bit more serious, tension shooting through him as he looks around for those in the crowd he can trust. who he will look to find first, before anyone else. ]
