[With some help, Petra arrives in the lush, wooded area surrounding Lunar Pond dressed to impress. She spends several long minutes taking in the new surroundings and investigating what this new environment has to offer, all smiles and quite relaxed despite not knowing what the ceremony ahead will entail. The delicate flowers and softly pulsing fireflies are lovely and soothing in their own right, and she finds herself envying the werewolves that hold these forests so dear, thinking that someplace like this might suit her far better than the cities.
When dancing begins, she hangs back for a short while, content to watch and see if she can learn the steps through observation. That proves to be difficult— learning by doing is often more effective, and she does eventually join in the group dance with enthusiasm, though will occasionally break off with partners as the dances themselves dictate. It is wild, cheerful and chaotic; any reservations she might have had are long gone as she laughs her way through dancing with the natives and fellow summoned alike. Anyone who would like to cut in only need say the word.]
ii. moon lanterns
[The moon lanterns given to visitors upon arrival seem to be quite important to the ceremony itself, and so Petra gives hers due attention before getting too caught up in all the revelry. The sentiment behind them is a lovely one, she thinks, and before writing a name and putting it into the lantern itself, she opts to join those who are painting and personalizing their lanterns as encouraged. Sitting with a brush and some of the offered paint, she looks over to whomever may be working on their own lantern nearby, offering a genuine smile of encouragement.]
That is quite lovely— I think your painting must capture your feelings very well.
iii. blind tasting
[Food is an important part of any celebration, she’s always thought, and the game of tasting things blindly is so thrilling that Petra does not waste a moment in volunteering to participate once she hears of it. Whether she finds herself seated with a friend or a stranger, she’ll be dabbling in blind tasting throughout the night, eager to offer herself as a partner and curious to find out exactly what the wolves of Luna consider to be fine cuisine.]
This one tastes…
[She adopts a pleased but still thoughtful expression as she closes her eyes to consider; it’s unnecessary, given that all the food is enchanted, but she’s so caught up in the game of it all that she can’t help herself.]
I think it is bear! If it is not, then something very like it. What do you think?
iv. the assignment
[When the assignments are given, Petra is quick to make up her mind. They are here as invited guests; cooperation seems the correct way forward to her, especially given the impending threat. Though there is no proof of what is to come, time is of the essence and she does not intend to wait for it— if there is a threat, it must be responded to accordingly, and she would be dishonoring their hosts if she did otherwise.
Carefully pocketing the clockwork bug that has been given to her, she quickly sets out to see if she can find the necessary tool to do what must be done— something that would have been far easier among the stalls of the marketplace, but she is certain someone here must have a needle. Thankfully, it is easy enough to come up with an excuse to locate one discreetly; she tucks herself out of sight just long enough to make a small tear in the skirt of the dress Wanda had been kind enough to make her, and then proceeds to seek out any locals or unfamiliar Summoned that might be able to lend her ‘aid.’]
