When we were seventeen he found out that he wasn't just a human shapeshifter like we thought, he was part Skrull and part Kree- which are two alien races that have been at war with each other for probably centuries, and not only that but he was the heir to the Skrull throne. He didn't want that responsibility, he wanted to stay on earth with us- with me. But, about a year ago the Kree/Skrull Alliance asked him to be their figurehead and to rule what was left of both races and he didn't see a way he could say no. Not when saying yes would save lives. So off he went, but not before we got married in secret, and then we had an actual ceremony for all our friends and family and I've been off-world since then. [ There was more to it, including a small war and billy stopping the sun from almost blowing up, but that was an even longer story. ]
