and then eddie laughs, and throws back the last of his ale, so steve reaches out to pick up the pitcher and pour him another. in part because he thinks he can work with this, casual conversation and talking about slaying dragons in the sort of way that still feels normal. laughing, drinking, getting drunk, and distinctly not bringing up just how fucked up all this really is. the stuff about home, yeah, but also the stuff about here. about how they're stuck, how there kind of being held hostage, and how they're expected to just keep going.
