[ Maybe that's the part that feels foreign. At no point has Julie ever known other people to make things feel easier or better for her. She knows there are people who loved her, but she could not point at any of them and say that their specific presence had improved her life. Perhaps the things they provided, materially, did, but not them as people. That's something she has only discovered since she was brought to Abraxas.

And Geralt had been the first one. Maybe that's the charm of meeting when you're both locked in a fucking dungeon like animals. There's nothing to take or give, not really. It's just... connecting.

While she couldn't speak for Jaskier and Ciri, Julie had not approached dressing him as a makeover or dress up. That would imply that she thought he needed change, and she didn't. He just needed to be elevated a bit, for a little while. She had actually gone out of her way to make sure that everything she found for him to wear was something she thought he might find for himself, if he were more inclined to the fanciness. She does try to do that for everyone she dresses, but she'd shown more restraint than normal. Nor did she even try to douse him with any scents (although she did inform him that if he smelled like wolves or horses come tonight, she would pour a whole bottle on him). Mostly her effort had gone into clothing and a single brushing out of his hair -- the more strictly decorative aspects were Jaskier, and the braids were pure Ciri.

She might do the braids again out of indulgence, though. When it's just the two of them. They're cute. ]

Not the worst secret could get out. It can be your new thing, the best-dressed monster hunter in the city.
