[What? It's totally a cool line.

Nero crosses his ankles, watching Steve without really watching him, arms crossed over his chest. It's not really hard to make himself look like he's standoffish, doing nothing, because that's about all he's been doing the whole time he's been in Nocwich (besides the spa. That was pretty sweet.)

His arms are crossed, though, to keep him grounded. Muscles tight enough to cramp. About the only thing keeping him on the ground, because he could be sending his ass straight to Himeka. She might've portaled there, but he could find her. Wings and all. Mental shout-outs. Wouldn't even be hard.

But whoever she's meeting with likely isn't gonna be too keen on a dude flying into their meeting to check on her, no matter what's goin' on. And though Solvunn is some shady shit, he trusts they'd protect her. She's the heart of the community. One of them. And that place needs several hearts to keep it running.

Nero's not got a watch (duh) but he keeps time by humming a song under his breath, over and over, adding the playtime end to end. Resisting the urge to peek into the water and make sure nothin's fucked up. Trust the process. Something Kyrie might say. Trust that you want to protect her.

He does. A few vampires won't get in the way of him protecting Himeka, but -- this is working. Whatever Steve's saying, he's got their attention.

Three hums later, he finally leans back like he's sighing, reaching into the water -- hand swiping up two seeds and, from what he can feel, a tiny sprout easing its way out, soft as a leaf. He pockets both seeds, kicking off the edge of the fountain, glancing at people going to and fro. Looking, a bit like them... frazzled.

Something's definitely gone wrong.

He could go and finish himself, but for whatever reason, he doesn't want Steve thinkin' he's abandoned him. So he wanders a winding path towards where he's with those guards, whistling the same tune he'd hummed earlier. Beelining for the refreshment table like he's just grabbing another drink (the other one might've ended up in the fountain. Oops.)]
