If there was discontent beyond the usual things, it certainly wasn't public. After all, it was treasonous to go against Thorne's royals, and the attitude towards the poor meant that most of the locals were not particularly interested in talking to or acknowledging them. "Himeka..." he murmurs, staring at the ground between his feet. They've since reunited after their ordeal, but hearing that Ambrose had ended up releasing some of the prisoners after all has sent him spiraling. He hadn't believed it possible that they would, when guests like Phoenix and Kiryu had floated the idea... and to be released from solitary only to find out that it had been an option...
An option he'd taken away from Himeka with his unwillingness to wait...
Himeka was capable of making a good impression. What if she could have been released? There's no chance they would let her go now, after this. If he hadn't pulled her away, perhaps she would have collected her bounty in ice crystals and then been rewarded with freedom. It wouldn't be complete, but at least she might have had a chance. Yet, because of him, she was as doomed as he was.
His gut turns. It takes him a moment to speak.

This man seems like he's been keeping an ear to the ground, at the least. Like he's asking the right questions. What does someone else think of their chances?
