Estinien is not at all enthusiastic about participating in another war, but he's even less happy with the idea of leaving work undone for the sake of keeping his hands clean. Someone has to do this, and if Thorne really intends to take control of the Singularity... well, he does not think they are equipped to do so.

"What's more, Thorne intends to use the power of the Singularity for its own devices. To take control of it, and attempt to bend it to their will. Given the questionable morality of their leadership, I cannot see this as a viable option. Mankind can rarely be trusted with such power... I have seen it play out myself, again and again."

He looks downward, his frown thoughtful.

"I cannot allow this fate to be forced upon anyone else."
