They're both run ragged, and sweaty, and dirty, and emotionally exhausted, but at least Viktor hasn't been expending magical energy to heal the injured. Despite the fact that he knows Jayce is the less likely to collapse from exhaustion of the two of them, he would rather not see it happen on his account.

A fundamental disagreement, and Viktor's pride is betrayed by the fact that he coughs into his handkerchief, again, probably the only thing that makes him relent.
